Ted Sobol: Success in Hospital Administration and New Hospital Construction


In a 40+ year career in hospital management/administration, Ted has supervised nearly every department in a community hospital. 35+ years of this experience was gained at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, a 232 bed hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

During his last 9 years at Reid, Ted was the lead owner’s representative responsible for planning, constructing and occupying a new replacement facility in Richmond. Total project cost:$318 million. This project was successfully completed in September, 2008.

In November, 2009, Ted joined the Parkview Regional Medical Center project as a consultant. He was responsible for selecting /supervising the move coordinator and managing an $8 million furniture budget. He also assisted with: furniture selection, furniture contract negotiations, furniture planning, moving departments to locations other than the new medical center, modifications to the signage program, projects for the owner’s representative, orienting staff to the new building and leading tours of the project for community members and VIPs. Total project cost: $536 million. This project was completed March 17, 2012 ahead of schedule and under budget.
